Conserve Water after Catastrophic Watermain Break
Residents of the south end of Ottawa were asked to avoid doing laundry and washing dishes after a spectacular
break in a 1.2 metre concrete watermain closed down one of the main arteries of the city.

"It was phenomenal," said one resident.
"Everything was floating down the road."
