Flaherty moving on infrastructure spending
to boost economy

Ottawa plans to use spending on infrastructure as a key initiative to boost the economy, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said Monday, vowing to move as quickly as possible to get projects up and running.

 
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has vowed to devote more spending to infrastructure to boost the economy.

As Flaherty has promised to move quickly, it's critical that you make sure your infrastructure projects have been prioritized, and that your municipality is ready to go.  There is $33 Billion promised on the table, dubbed by Flaherty as "smart Infrastructure."

US Mayors agree - we need to spend on infrastructure
The US Conference of Mayors is joining the call for infrastructure spending in order to boost the economy.  US Cities have identified over 4,500 projects they estimate would create over a quarter-of-a-million new jobs.
