This article caught our eye.  A large Regional Municipality in Ontario has spent over $30 million installing a new, large diameter watermain... yet before it is even functional, inspection crews have discovered two leaks.

Sinkhole Swallows Van...

A Southwestern Ontario family is lucky to be alive after a watermain break created a sinkhole large enough to submerge their family minivan.

Watermain breaks usually appear innocent enough... right?

Tell that to the Rhoades family.  Their 7 year old son has a broken jaw after a watermain break created a sinkhole large enough to swallow their minivan last weekend.

Fortunately, both the City and Region have done their due diligence and now use vinyl pipe, which will minimize future risks.
