Feds Come Through with
Massive Infrastructure Funding Increases
Over SEVEN
BILLION Dollars in Spending
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has unveiled a shopping list of new
infrastructure initiatives, highlighting the desperate need to fix
Canada's roads, sewers, watermains, bridges and dams.
- $585 Million over two
years for a Highways and Borders fund.
- $91 million over two years for Pacific Gateway Initiative
- $181 million for Strategic Infrastructure Fund
- Over $530 million to renew Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund
Over
$5.5 Billion in new spending, while gas tax money continues to remain in
the hands of municipalities...
