Calls for Plan to Cut Infrastructure Deficit
Canada’s municipalities have called on the federal
government to commit to a long-term plan to eliminate Canada’s
$60-billion national infrastructure deficit.

President Michael Coleman, Mayor of Duncan, B.C. says "We’re ready to get started now."
“We’re not looking for patchwork programs and ad hoc spending,” said
Coleman. “We want a long-term plan and a long-term commitment.
We
estimate the deficit at $60 billion and growing by $2 billion a year.

Rahim Jaffer, Conservative Infrastructure Critic, has
issued a
news release saying they support the call for long-term, stable
infrastructure funding to address the infrastructure deficit.
